Kjersten Drager

Kjersten DragerKjersten Drager is Vice President and Business Manager of BlueWater Strategies. In addition to working with clients, Ms. Drager manages the firm’s business and political affairs. Ms. Drager, who helped Andrew Lundquist found the firm in 2002, previously worked at The White House where she was a special assistant in the Office of Vice President Cheney. She served as one of six staff to the President’s National Energy Policy Development Group, a first-of-its-kind task force put in place to produce the President’s National Energy Policy.

Previous to serving at The White House, Ms. Drager worked for five years in the United State Senate. On the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee she was an assistant to the Republican staff director and helped manage a staff of 35 people. Earlier Ms. Drager worked with the Committee’s chief counsel coordinating committee markups, nomination hearings and legislative activities on the Senate floor. Before moving to the Senate Energy Committee, Ms. Drager worked in the office of then-Senator Frank Murkowski of Alaska where she was a legislative assistant.

Ms. Drager, originally from Anchorage, Alaska, has a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She and her husband, Phil, have a daughter.
